It has been Africa hot in Florida this summer. Seems like the bike is running very hot (but never seems to get the thermometer all the way over to the right) not sure the cooling system is doing enough.
Faiirly certain all of the parts are working but would be more comfortable if the bike was running cooler.
Any ideas?

For me, 3/4 is still OK, but others recommend ThermoBob.

The fan should be running at 3/4, though. If it goes beyond that, I'd
be checking things.

One thing you can try is to block off the space between the radiator and the underside of the tank. This forces more air to flow through the radiator. There are a couple of threads about this mod on one of the other forums. Some riders have reported cooler running as a result.

dot5 brake fluid

The two fluids are not compatible so I wouldn't use DOT5 when DOT4 is cheap
and hardly scarce. It would be too much trouble imo to thoroughly clean the
system to make the switchover. I repeat they are not compatible and can't be
mixed!
DOT5 is silicone based and less hydroscopic.

It says 3 or 4 on the reservoir caps. I have been
using some DOT 5.5 that I had left over from a
Mercedes brake job I did. Is there any harm using
what I gather to be higher spec. synthetic fluid if
you bleed out the old stuff?
