surging and backfire - update - success

Almost as good as Sterno, but it gives me gas:) Yes I forgot to mention I'm running a couple of tanks of Seafoam as part of the repair. Seafoam works great! FYI, read the instructions carefully before drinking it......... Eddie

I'm glad I did because what I noticed was that when the bike gets hot the vacuum line kinks at the bends (it's the clear flexible type). To fix this I replaced the new vacuum line that was the same length as the old one, w/ another one only I made this one about 1 1/2" longer to increase the size of the bend radii. > > The bike runs great! > > I hope this helps somebody else if they've run into something similar > > Thanks for the help Fred > > > > Did you mean for this message to be sent to just > me or the whole list? > > Your petcock has a vacuum operated shut off valve > and will only flow fuel when the engine is running or cranking over.
