Hello Everyone
While at a kawi dealer yesterday, I noticed a KLR250 2001 . This bike had metal foot pegs, they were spiked and looked like they would help keep my feet on the pegs alot better than the stock rubber ones . Anyone know if the 250 pegs would fit a 650 ?
Thanks
Dave

Yup. Got a set for my 650 a couple of weeks ago. @ $28.00/each.
Remember they are different part numbers for each side. Make sure the
parts guy orders one of each.

Rob,
Any idea how they compare with the IMS Flightline or Pro pegs?

Hi,
Having owned and ridden the 250 and having IMS pro pegs on the 650 I have to
say the IMS pegs, which are wider, are well worth the extra bucks. No doubt
about it.

The left mounting "boss" on the frame for where the foot peg attaches
has strip out it's threads. I must have lossened it on one occassion
& failed to tighten securely. Any ideas for "fix's"?? There doesn't
appear to be enough material to use a re-thread kit. I had thought
of having another boss made out of say 1/2" metal, thread the two
holes & have it welded on the original boss??? Anything out there on
the commercial market?? Thanks. jimmer16@...

I believe it was Mariola's bike that had a striped out footpeg mount. I
fixed it with a Helicoil before she left on her adventure. She is now in
South America and as far as I know the footpeg has made it that far too.

Is it me or the IMS serrated foot pegs are too close to the stock
shift lever? Solutions?

Hard time getting toes under the shifter ?
Take the shifter bolt out, pull the shifter off and rotate it a notch
or two for more room. Just make sure it dont smack the case when
lifting high to shift up.
(Oh put the bolt back in when done)

They're definitely closer. I lowered my shift pedal one spline, which took a bit of getting used to but works fine now.
Nothing compared to the difficulty shifting when your foot has already come off the stock footpeg.
