I got a call today from state farm telling me they would not insure my KLR650 because its a dual purpose bike and I may take it off of paved roads. They want me to buy additional dirt bike insurance that wont cover me on-road to go with my on-road insurance. If not, no insurance at all. Probably because I got collision and medical insurance on it and me. I know a lot of you guys are are insured with them. What do you do? David

Interesting. I have had State Farm for a long time on all my bikes and cars, and always had god service from them. But the insurance has lapsed on three of my bikes and I have been waiting to renew until I actually put the bikes back on the road. I just carry liability and comp, except on my KTM, for which I buy collision. (How do you afford medical coverage on a bike?). I'll be curious to see what they say.
