riding areas

Wish I had some more advice on close riding areas. I live
in Mt. Vernon OH and looking for some places to explore
myself as well as take my Sons this summer. I want them to
fall down and get hurt. I don't want them Kilt by a swarm of
crazed fourwheeler ATV's Drop me a note off list and I'll
share all the things I've collected about various riding
areas in exchange for any thing you find out. You must have
a special permit to ride in Wayne NF. (plus USFS approved
spark arrester) This much I know. To get the permit you
have to have a License tag or OHV tag if off road only. To
get an OHV tag you need a title. To get a title you need
either the original Bill of sale or have the vehicle
inspected and the request a title. Spendy proposition to
get the little state of ohio sticker.
On a separate note why doesn't some computer savey person
make up some kind of database for riding areas. Would be
great if someone like the AMA would do this and keep it
active. I'd love to know of places to camp and ride, public
and private. free and fee.
Have any of you traveled on the trails in Wayne National
Forest? I
purchased my KLR650-A17 at the beginning of the month and am
itching
to ride. 68 miles of trails sounds fun and I was wandering
if you
know of any riding groups in the area. I am new to the
motorcycling
community, except the last few month reading this newsgroup,
and
thought I'd try to meet up with experienced riders in
my area.
I am having a blast riding the KLR. Thanks again for helping
me
choose this comfortable bike. I'm taking my time learning on
the
backroads of the surrounding countryside of Athens and
Vinton County.
