Hello all, I have been on here for a few weeks now. Thanks again for such a cool newsgroup!!!! Ok here is some stuff for you people to chew on: After getting your posts about gearing, here is what I am gonna do. I want to buy a 39 tooth rear sprocket, a new chain, and both a 14 tooth and 16 tooth front. This hopefully will give good town/backroad riding with the 14 and decent highway with the 16. I think the 39/14 combo should be close to stock ratio. Now, where do I get this stuff!!!!! I was on ebay the other day and found someone selling the oil filters 10 for 20 bucks. I would not mind paying 7 dollars at the dealer if they did not act like arrogant assholes!!!! Sorry for that spasm. Total with priority mail is 23.20 I'll keep you posted as to whether they are any good. The e-mail from the people and their info is below. Happy trails Randy Eystad dratv@...

I just bought a new KLR A15 and was wondering what the # is for the Fram oil filter that fits this bike. Are there any other national brand filters that fit?

See Fred at http://www.arrowheadmotorsports.com/ and get a reusable stainless steel KLR oil filter. Great! Let's you change your oil on long trips without having to carry or find a filter. Pat Austin, TX

The Fram part # is CH6070. There are other brands but I haven't used them so their names and such elude me. dat brooklyn bum

Jeff, I know NAPA makes filters for both your KLR650 and my KLR250.Since WIX makes the filters for NAPA, that means you can get them in WIX also.I can tell that the NAPA filters look to be very good, and they come with the filter cover o-ring, while the Kawasaki brand (at least the KLR250 filters) do not come with the o-rings. Although, you might consider sticking with the Kawasaki filters until your warranty runs out, and keep your reciepts for the purchase of said filters. There is a concern that, if you have an oil-related failure, and they find an off-brand filter in your bike, they may dissallow your warranty. Hi, I am suprised that your KLR250 filters come without O rings as its the same filter as the KLR 650 and KLX, I uaed to have a 250 for my SO until we went with the Husky. Brian KLR A14 KLX C1 TE 410E Honolulu, HI [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
