Don, my 1" lowering links work great! I really like the 'nearchrome'powdercoat finish. The instructions and kick stand mod. wereeasy tofollow. A couple of my buddies would like either the 1" or1.5" low.links. Sorry, I lost your email address. So, I hope you seethispost. Like the name KiLR LynX too! Jay

Jay, saw your msg. Have your buddies contact me. I have 2 or 3 sets of both the 1" and 1.5" low. links.Glad you are happy with your set. The 'chrome' powder coat is nice, eh? Each batch I learn a bit more and incorporate improvements. The machine shop increased their charges so that plus the powder coat has raised the price to $61 (includes shippng). Thanks, don :) dbeck13@...

Does anyone here have firsthand knowledge of the lowering links advertised on dual-star.com? From the photo it looks like they have Quality Engines name on them. Does lowering this way adversly affect the performance of the KLR? I've done it on my DR with no appreciable change except in ground clearance. bierdo

I bought them initially for the improved handling & did a dualsport ride two up with Mrs.Scott with no problems. Find myself missing the clearance now though & am going to raise the KLR back to stock height. I plan on keeping the shortened sidestand on & installing a full length centerstand, that I can switch back & forth as rides demand. All best Scott A14 "thunderdog"

Pat, when using low-links the fork tubes are pulled up 1-1.5" in their clamps (easy). I presently have 1.5" links on my KLR...great, canyon carving on the asphalt and on gravel/dirt fire roads, decent on 'easy' trails. I use my xt225 for the 'serious' narrow track stuff. don A11, in WA

Greetings all! I'm planning to purchase a KLR650 later this summer. While I'm 6' tall, my inseam must be a bit short because I find the KLR to be too tall for me. I've seen some mention of lowering links and have seen the results (in photos at some websites). As I plan to stick to the paved roads 95% of the time (and pretty tame trails the other 5%), I'm not concerned about the reduced ground clearance. (I used to ride an XT500 and that had plenty of ground clearance for me.) I was wondering if those who have had experience riding the KLR "lowered" would mind posting some thoughts about it. Thanks, Barry

Listers- Just last week I bought another KLR, it's just as much fun as I remembered. I need a set of lowering links ( and shortened sidestand)...if anyone has a set that are getting dusty in their garage please contact me off-list. Dan Weber STOC327 '98 ST1100A '99KLR650 Shreveport, LA
