I went up to the Vancouver Motorcycle Show today and checked out the 2008 KLR. Not sure if this is old news, the dohicky has been redesigned, msrp will be only $100 more than the '07 KLR and it will be available this March in Canada, not sure about the US. I uploaded a few photos to a temporary album on my smugmug page. http://r1150rt.smugmug.com Gary

I'll believe that when I see it. What's your source?

Hi Gary, I was just thinking last night, (it was a dark, and cold, stormy night), that a motorcycle show about now would be nice, about this time of year. Sounds like you had fun. Just curious: How do you know/confirm the redesigned doohickey? Nothing in the 'press'-advertisements feature it as an improvement (that I have seen). and I don't believe they bought a bucket full of those improved doohickeys from Eagle Mike...at least he isn't saying so.... revmaaatin.

Nicely done smugmug.com site. I perused some of your other photo's, which I found to be very enjoyable to see. Thanks for the KLR photo's. revmaaatin.

Judd, Thanks for the heads up. Now, I have to choose between the National Stock and Rodeo Show, Rapid City, SD or motorcycles in MN. Quarter horses or KLR's, sigh. So many choices. The horses are winning right now.... In the end, I will be 'rev-working' on Sunday also. All this work get in the way of motorycycling. Please share a 'walk-report' of what you see. revmaaatin.

I really like the 2008 model. I bought a Black 2007 in September, and if I knew, I *may* (not sure in other words) have waited. I like the new headlight(s) design. I like the brake upgrades, and the suspension change. The one thing I do NOT like about the old (2007 down) KLR, as I mentioned before, is the headlight. It is weak, at best, IMO. I want a road legal headlight that is as bright as that on my Vstar. That said, I hate all the new 2008 KLR colors. HATE, I tell you!! The green comes the closest to likeable, but the rest are lousy, IMO. I want a 2008 style in the 2007 Silver and Black color scheme!! (Perhaps in 2009 or 2010 it'll happen??) I'd likely trade in my '07 in on an '08, if only they kept the '07 color scheme. Yeah, it sounds silly, but I really thought Kawasaki finally got a color scheme I liked (first since the all OD version), and I bought one. I ride mostly road and dirt-road, so the true "dirt" capability is only a bonus (I will very occasionally ride on dirt, but rarely). FWIW. Well, I am anxious for 2009 now. :-) Chuck F. Loving his '07 in NE PA

If I'm not mistaken, the 08 KLR is NOT at the bike shows in the U.S.A. - Only in Canada. It wasn't at the Detroit show and I've heard of a few other US shows it wasn't at either. Haven't heard of one US show it's been to yet. It was one of the main reasons I went to the show in the first place. It was at the Toronto show. I missed it. Geoff- www.oldrice.com

Good pics thanks. How did you confirm that Doohickey had been re-designed, one of the Kaw sales guys, or was there a cut-a-way or literature on it? --------------------------------- Don't be flakey.
