Thank you Fred and Mark and everyone. I was very surprised to get good advice so fast, everyone was very nice. The husband of my girlfriend has a KLR that is regular height, and he said he wants to trade his regular links for the ones on my KLR. He is coming over Saturday to help exchange the parts. He is 5'8" and I'm 5'9, but I guess my legs are little longer, and I like a higher bike. I can't wait to ride, I hope the Angeles Crest or maybe Mulholland this weekend. With so many messages being generated, I decided to wait until I had the majority of my questions answered before thanking everyone. I subscribe to several hobby groups. With one exception, I have never seen as helpfull a body as this one. The response to my query about wide boots made me understand how Frankenstein felt, that it had taken on a life of its own. I will still have questions from time to time, but I have gotten the answer to the immediate ones. My next step will be to locate a KLR and see if it will fit my stubby little legs and humungous feet. If not, I know from my reading and your reponses that there are some remedies available such as lowering links and dipped saddles.

The listers, I mean. With my limited dollars, I have made the additions/upgrades that are most mentioned on this list. First, for utility, was the JCW removable top case. Great addition for a daily commuter. Yesterday, the PS springs and Galfer SS brake front brake line (yeah, purchased from Fred...gotta show some support though one can get a better price. btw, he did throw in some extras stickers on my request, thanks Fred) Anyway, the front end seems, no IS, more tractable in bumpy corners and definately doesn't dive so much during braking. Thanks listers! And, the SS brake line really does make a difference. Less lever pressure, more feel, everything you listers have said. Thanks again. A couple of weeks ago I added the Acerbis Rally Pro handguards based on reports here. Even though I had to cut the balls off the levers (I suppose one could move the perches but I didn't), they are worth the money for the vibration reduction not to mention the protection. I've done other stuff not worth mentioning. My main purpose is to thank this group (less Jake, not to say I don't thank Jake, just the group is less Jake) Thanks BP
