Thanks for the response.
Re the 'varnish' left by evaporation . . . another reason for a 'splash' of the fuel preservative. {just happen to have a gallon jug - bought at a Marine suppliers 'tent sale' . . . several years ago}. Use it in all my gas, where the fuel will be sitting for any length of time. One of it's attributes {supposedly} is to prevent {retard?} varnish formation.
