It was a little warmer than that here. The weather doesn't matter. The I-Cycle derby is in its 61st year: http://www.travelersmc.com/icycle.shtml No, I didn't take part. I have been considering this event every New Year's Day for the last 40 years. In the days when I had a Jawa Californian ready to fire up all year round, there was a pretty good chance I might actually show up. But somehow, when New Years Day dawns clear and cold, I never seem to feel quite ready to suit up and go ride a motorcycle. I will usually sleep right through the 10:00a.m. start time; in fact, the rally could be over by the time I rear my ugly head.

74 degrees predicted for the high in Dallas / Ft. Worth today. Severe clear skies. Working in short sleeves on the fence right now. May ride this afternoon. Criswell

We reached 78 degrees east of Dallas. Went to Edom for blackberry cobbler with ice cream. Basically the perfect day. Edom, I have a sliver of land out that way, Murishium (sp) into Ben Wheeler, turn left at the blacksmith's shop, out a few miles, turn at worn out big sign, left, few more miles turn left at the old white house with the kids toys in yard...........BTW, these are legit TX directions!

Big thing for a street ride here is even if you overcome the temps (I've ridden 50 miles of sled trails at -5 on a pick-equipped XR650R) you have to deal with ice and a lot of sand on the roads. If it was only I on the roads, I'd do it.
