Tractor supply Company sells a 11/4" combo wrench for $5.70. Will heating and bending a wrench like this work for doo repacement. Also is the stator removal tool just a 22m x 1.5 bolt. if so where can I get a bolt this size.

Craig,
I made a rotor holder from a similar wrench in 2003. Make sure it's
heavy enough so it won't bend when you apply 130 or so foot pounds of
torque to the rotor bolt. My first pawn shop wrench wasn't heavy enough
and it bent well before the rotor bolt loosened.
I suggest you buy the rotor puller from EagleMike. I've never heard of a
failure with one of his pullers. Mine has been used at least a dozen
times without issue. Do make sure you lube the threads and end of the
puller when using it.
Best,

I would second Jeff's opinion. I know it's temping to save a few
bucks, but often the time spent making up tools costs more in what your
time is worth than buying the appropriate tool. As far as the removal
tool goes, I'm certain that it is hardened for the task at hand;
something you won't get with a common bolt. Often times with critical
jobs like this, if you use inferior tools you wind up causing even more
problems. Just my 2 cents.

Idono, I got the soup to nuts kit from Arrowhead and to tell ya the
truth the tool they sent to break the nut sure looks weak to me. First
of all it's aluminum and I am afraid to even try it. I thought for
the cost of the compleat kit, somewhere around 150 bucks, I would get a
wrench that would do the job. I was very disapointed. I could have
saved a heck of a lot of money and just got the parts. I will probably
have to make a wrench anyway. I was trying to take as much of the
guesswork out of the project as possible but this puts more questions
in than I had to start with and I'm out a bunch of money I shouldn't
have spent.

The wrench you received was made by Happy Trails and will do the job just fine.

Don't see doohickey stuff offered by Arrowhead Motorsports. Am I
missing something? If not, what happened?

Hi Fred
Hey thanks for getting back to me on this wrench thing. Like I said it
looked kinda light based on the stories of how hard it is to get this
nut off. From what I have heard the nut is on tight as the devil.
People have have said they had to use long extentions, heat and still
had a hard time bustin it loose. I'm pretty sure this wrench won't
take that kinda abuse. I've put the job off because of that concern.
I would rather take my chances the way it is than screw the bike up.
Agian I haven't tried it yet because I have been afraid to start the
job and have the wrench screw things up.
That being said I feel a lot better that you chimmed in here to asure
me the wrench is up to the task. I'll start the job as soon as I get a
little time and let ya know how it goes.
Thanks again
Gary

I third Jeff's comment. Eagle Mike is the way to go. I've used his
wrench and rotor remover for many doos over the years. Never denied.
In fact, it's so reliable a mechanic at Alba Action Sports (m/c dealer)
asked to borrow mine when their setup couldn't get the job done in
their own shop!
Just take care when removing the bolt; lube the threads and tip. If
you use a 1/2" impact wrench make sure you have the pressure at max and
don't use whimpy 1/4" air line. Air volume might be too low to ensure
the full-monty, and probably the bolt won't loosen.
