I whack the throttle a few times to raise and lower the headlight if I see someone I deem "indecisive" when turning or pulling out. More effective on the FJR, as it always has plenty of torque to push the front nose up a bit, but it seems to work on the KLR as well. It seems to be just enough to wake 'em up and let them know "Hey, here I am! The gyrations described, prescribed, suggested--eat up valuable time/distance and make the outcome quite predictable. And yeah, they're legal, it's federal law. -E> Never use them but have seen those things that make your head light > kinda blink or flash. Really gets your attention.
