klr help needed!
Can't say I agree; I like the 16 tooth sprocket.
I had headwind issues before with the 15 tooth and the 16 tooth
doesn't make it better or worse, it's just lack of guts in the KLR.
Of course you're in Colorado and I'm a lot closer to sea-level
(Chicago). Maybe that's makes a difference to the carb jetting.
Roll-on performance is fine above 4K on the tach (55 mPH on the
speedo) and extends fine to 75 MPH. It lugs a little below that
requiring more shifting in the 35-45 MPH range and makes 2-up and in-
city riding a pain-in-the-ass. But on the highway it's fine with
just me (6'0", 220 Lbs.) My MPG has gone up about 5 MPG to 55-60 MPG
too.
