What GPS mounts have you guys had luck with- specifically mounts for the Garmin line? Have the GPS units held up to the vibration? What other things should I know before mounting an expensive piece of electronics to my bike? Thanks. I have a standard handlebar mount from Garmin that I use with my eTrex Legend. About $27.00 and works like a charm!

I used an A=Loop mount on both my R1150GS and KLR650 when I was using the Garmin III. Use the thick stickon velcro, make a velcro loop to help hold it when on really ruff roads. The unit is cheap, attaches to the crossbar, and small. I had to go to the RAM with the new 176 unit I use now as it has a rounded back and is much larger than my III. Works great also but just big. The ram mount will knock off any harmful vibes you may get from the bike. Also a good idea to run a wire from the battery with an acc. plug for it. Be sure to inline fuse it. Aloop used to make a really great gps mount for the smaller GPS's like the 3 Plus and such but quit. ???? I have a new 167 and have the ram mount with extra ball so I can swap it between bikes rapidly. Talk to Tom at CycoActive and he'll answer all your questions on this stuff.
