supertrapp exhaust?

Hello All. I have just bought a 99 LKLR 650 with a little over 6K on it. I am unsure as to the
history of the bike but it seems fairly okay. It came with a supertrapp competition exhaust an
open endcap, and 6 baffle plates. There are two problems that I would welcome
advice/comments on. First it is too loud, can it mellowed by adding more baffle plates and a
closed endcap? Second it wont idle, is this connected to the exhaust? The mixture screw has
been exposed so I can adjust. I was told that the bike had a stage 1 jet kit, or so the seller
thought, he was friendly and polite but not too clear on mechanical issues he had a two item
tool kit one small vice wrench one large vice wrench. I would like to get the bike back to
stock, so I guess I could be looking for stock muffler and jets. appreciate any help I can get.

Adding baffles will only make it louder.Try repacking it.As far as the idle problem, You might want to start with the carb.
