Nice. Heading there myself in Feb. I'll put my girlfriend on the back and head there further through Central Amer and South Amer. Looking for tips, beta, etc. from people that have been to Copper and further...beyond Panama. What tires are you running? Last year we did a sweet ride (2-up) for 2 months down to Cabo. I spent about an hour in Cabo and probably won't go back. I prefer the off-road in Baja and the smaller towns so much more. I'll be curious of my impression of the "other" Mexico. I've heard a lot of great things about Copper. Can't wait to read beyond the teaser. Cheers - Brian

I followed your story on advrider while you were writing it; excellent report and a great adventure. I've ridden that area a couple of times. Not the road from Tubares to Choix that you were on, because my party likes to go via La Reforma and the Lake Huites ferry, but I know the bridge you weren't supposed to cross. ;-{>

Nice report Tony! I went there with my son about two years ago and like you, he rode much faster than his old man (me). I was constantly worried that he would get lost, but he didn't. We came directly back to Creel from Batopilas but I would like to go again and continue west and take the ferry to Baja. I bet you Dad was more worried than he let on. Thanks for the report. <><><><><><><> <><><><><><><> Tony, I finally got time to check out your Mexico ride. Very nice reading about your most excellent adventure. Your river crossings and the rocks etc reminded me of the Apache Indian Reservation in AZ when Steve and I were on De Tour. But we knew we could count on each other for help. : ) Thanks so much for taking the time to write about your trip and share it with us. PauL, Look through the the archives. There is a company somewhere that fixes that exact thing, they can even fix a wiped cam bore. They were mentioned several times over the years, unfortunately I don't know who or where they are. Darren Clark 2004 KLR-650 Fowlerville, MI PauL - yes the L is upper case wrote:
