I haven't been getting any e-mails for the last couple of days from the klr lists. Any problems? Ron Criswell

Or better yet, Someone making the company own up to there mistakes and recall these klr's for reason's we all know about. What's it going take, someone getting hurt or worse. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? If you want to talk safety - start a thread. In regards to getting Kawasaki to 'own up' good luck. That's been going around probably since this email list started. And winter's coming - so it's almost time for a good gun or political thread!!! :) Jim

Wayne, I think it's great that you finally got to the bottom of your KLR problems and hopefully you'll be back on the road soon. But letters have been written over the years, phone calls have been made, and nothing has happened on Kawi's part except to beef up the doohickey for the 2008 model. Now that there's a new part, I doubt there's much anyone can do, short of a lawsuit in response to a failure-related injury, to get them to move on fixing older bikes. As far as I recall, no one has been hurt by a doohickey yet. The worst situation I remember (and my memory is far from perfect) was when Mark Van Horn's clutch actuator rod (?) failed, gummed up the works, and he had to bulldog a siezed KLR (rear wheel as well as motor) to the side of the highway. If you'd like to be Don Quixote, the job of KLR ombudsman is open. And if there's another safety issue to address, bring it up. The KLR has many known opportunities for improvement, but none have proved to be dangerous in normal operation. The most hazardous thing to most KLR riders is the car in the next lane or the one about to turn left in front of them. __Arden --- In DSN_KLR650@yahoogroups.com, Wayne Blackburn wrote:

Exactly! The Dept of Transportation has known that this is a problem and they have failed to correct it. I proclaim that we file a lawsuit against the DOT for "failure to do right". ;>) West___

Yeah A tragic thing, that fish truck and all that. Luckily I've been around long enough to know the whole sad story. Ronald Criswell wrote:
