I'll be off the KLR list as I have found a new love. Black ST1100 Pan-European. Can't resist her wiles so have to go with the flow.
My wife & son are urging me to keep the KLR which I will do until I know which appeals the most.

Hi Norm
I had the same problem when trying to decide between my Valk and my KLR. When I ride the Valk, it is the best bike in the universe, smooth, powerful, reliable, great two up performance, long distance running etc. and it looks great. The KLR, by comparison, is a rude crude, high maintenance beast.
But then,, a buddy of mine says its time to go hit the dirt back roads of the local mountains and I know I can't do it on the ST... er Valk, so I saddle up the KLR and wind up having the best time of my life.. its easy to work on and the bike to have in an urban emergency.. earthquake, or other circumstance which requires hopping curbs etc to get where you need to go.
So what to do... what to do.... each time I ride one, I grow to appreciate the benefits of the other even more. It turns out that the two together represent the largest continuum of motorcycling joy..... what part of that joy to eliminate?
For me the answer was easy... keep them both. The little bit of money you get for the KLR will do little to satisfy that hole in your heart that you will create if you decide to sell your baby, .. your pride and joy .. .
Plus you get to participate on two lists, not one...
To see what I mean, just wait until you are riding your ST and you come across a KLR rider and stop to say "Hi" ... what else will you be able to say?

Funny I just happened to see your post. I'm trying out My-Mc.com, ST1100.org, and ST-Owners.com but haven't decided which one is best. I prefer the all-in-one digest form as used by DSN_KLR650 to the separate forums.
We are at our cottage in the mountains for the weekend and I left the KLR at home. Just returned from a 100 miles of twisty mountain roads with a big grin. I REALLY like the ST!
How do you find time to ride both bikes?

I have a Concours and a KLR and I often don't have time to ride either one,
but I wouldn't want to be without either. They compliment one another
nicely, and it's always a nice change to go from one to the other.
