I've rode several 10 hour trips, mostly onroad, with the IMS footpegs, and they have never bothered me. MotorMark

Oh, vibration - That is the sensation some KLR riders do overstate at times. My early Harley and Triumphs vibrated - the KLR is a remote cousin to the high-rpm eye-blur of 'vibration' If the KLR ever got close to that level of vibration, I would be rebuilding it asap. Scott, Save a pile of money and get the older model DR650 foot pegs. I've been running the DR foot pegs since '96. I've put in several can't see to can't see rides and have experienced no discomfort. If anything, there is increased comfort, provided you are wearing boots with steel shanks (a la MX boots) for support. I went with the DR650 steel pegs (1995 or equiv), recommended in the FAQ. These fit right on the existing KLR brackets. You need: 1 RH front footrest, 43550-44B10-019 1 LH front footrest, 43560-44B10-019 2 springs, 09448-15008 The Kawi pins work just fine. Total price from Ron Ayers back in the spring (remember what THAT is?) of last year was $27.10 These have provided excellent grip and aren't agressive enough to tear up my boots. Also, I noticed no difference in vibration levels between them. In fact, what vibration? I find them far more comfortable than the OEM pegs. The larger platform, increased weight, and return springs dampen any vibes pretty well. I would install them even on a road-only KLR. Z DC A5X A12X
