John, It seems like this is a widespread thing. On one of the other KLR650 forums, it seems like the failure rate for the 2008 rear shock adjuster is close to 100%. I know this is anecdotal - sorry 'bout that! Do we know if the parts needed are small bits or full shock replacement? And if small bits only, is it something the backyard KLR mechanic can easily fix or do they need to trust the dealer to do it? -- Doug Herr doug@... Doug, The parts fiche on www.buykawasaki.com only shows the entire shock assembly for the 2008 model. On the older bikes the preload adjuster is shown as a separate part.
