[[ possible spam ]] [dsn_klr650] klr rear tire question?

I have had trouble with some brands of stock 130/17 rubbing the chainguard so I imagine the 150/17 wouldn't even fit. -----Original Message----- From: DSN_KLR650@yahoogroups.com [mailto:DSN_KLR650@yahoogroups.com] On Behalf Of Fernando V. Sent: Wednesday, 11 July 2007 06:37 To: DSN_KLR650@yahoogroups.com Subject: [[ Possible Spam ]] [DSN_KLR650] KLR rear tire question? What is the largest tire I can mount on the stock KLR650 rim? I am planning to change out my rear tire to the Michelin "Anakee". The tire is offered in a 150/70 17 size. Would this tire size cause any problems with rubbing the chain guard, etc. Or should I stay with the stock 130/30 17 size? Any suggestions would be appreciated? I have an 07 KLR with only 1400+ miles that is leaking oil both from the oil filter cover and the bottom of the engine casing. Anybody heard about this problem before? Has Kawasaki issued a service notice? My local dealer has replaced the O ring and then the cover with no results. It's still under warranty, but full on riding season. I hate the down time but want the issue resolved. I have a 22 year old BMW that doesn't leak that much oil! Am I spoiled by good old German engineering? I'll post photos taken after I sprayed it with athletes foot spray (thanks for the tip people!) so you gurus can have a look. Any suggestions will be appreciated! I would make double sure the leak at the bottom of the case is really coming from the case and not somewhere else. Is it close to the rear sprocket? I have been fooled by my Scottoiler in the summer with their thin oil that seems to get everywhere. Check your oil filter cover again. Check the gasket. My guess is the dealer did not do squat, the o ring is bad, the cover is leaking, and the oil is flowing down to the bottom of the engine and looking like a leaking case. And no, case leaks are not common. Jeff A20 ************************************** See what's free at http://www.aol.com [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
