I don't know why you guys keep talking about the haynes and Clymer manuals,
haven't any of you ordered the factory shop manual for the bike from your
kawi dealer( the same ones they use in the shops)? Or don't they do that
anymore. they include updates on all revision to the motorcycles years, and
if i remember correctly, they're only a few bucks more than these over the
counter ones. I did this for my GPz and ZX. Interested in your
replys........

Yup. Got mine from Fred.
'However', they do leave a little to be desired and I think maybe
that people are looking for a more "accurate" manual. For instance -
read what they say is required to remove the rear shock and compare
it to what actually needs to be done. Kawi writes up a 60 minute
procedure for a 10 minute job. But then, maybe they all do that -
who knows...

Got my supplement from Arrowhead motorsports, after being told I was "way
down" on the waiting list at Dual Star. The supplements were out of stock for
a while, so I don't know how fast they've gone. Fred might have the base
manual in as well.

As per David Kelly's suggestions
I will be making a manual in pdf format ready for download, this
will include archives from DSN KLR, and will cover everything
short of a complete engine rebuild, which one day I will get to.
Since my bike is in pieces now I will photograph each step of
assembly and detail each step with photograpsh. I figure I could
have this written in a month or so in my spare time or quicker if
others help out. There is tons of detailed stuff out there already
(example clutch assembly available on dual sport news
webpage) If you are willing to allow me to use any info you might
already have that would be fantastic just send me an email to let
me know.
If anyone is interested please let me know, if you want to help out
that would be great. I am sure with the resources available on
this list we could get a community manual together in very short
time.
And yes David you can have one too.
Take care everyone,
Richard Hayward

Whoa! Make sure all of the stuff you post is your own and not scanned
or directly copied from a Kawasaki Manual. There are copyright laws
out there and I'd hate for this list to get scuttled because of that.
