Am I reading correctly that the 2008 is almost 50 lbs heavier than the '07? Why? How can a new owner shed some of that bulk? Thank you, EZ

Kawasaki just restated a more accurate weight this time around. A pre-2008 with a full tank of gas weighs 400 pounds. I haven't seen any real world measurements on the 2008. It may be a few pounds heavier, but not 50.

That 2007 weight is the fantasy land number that Kawasaki marketing department came up with. Used google with "2008 klr 650 weight" and the first hit gave: Numbers from MCN's reviews: In order: dynamometer measured rear wheel horsepower, torque, wet weight, and power to weight ratio. 2006 34.0 hp 33.3 lb ft 409.0 lb 1:12.03 2008 36.1 hp 32.7 lb ft 428 lb 1:11.86 Eleven pounds more for the 2008. -- Doug Herr doug@...
