It's a good story, but unfortunately her access was quite exaggerated. I'm probably going against the grain here, but 2 1/2" seems to long to me. My spacers are a little under 2". Progressive used to recommend 2" I added some of Don Rolandos fork bearings to bring the length of the stack up to 2". The fork caps screwed in without noticeable resistance from the spring; preload is about 1/8". More preload would seem to defeat the purpose of a progressive spring. Every bit of preload brings the spring closer to coil bind on the closer-spaced coils, so that the effective rate is stiffer. I want the wheel to deflect easily over irregularities, especially rocks. I also do not get the obsession with fork dive under braking. I did not notice it even with the stock springs. Of course, I have been riding airheads for a long time. A lot of softly-sprung fork travel is par for the course (please forgive the golf trope in a motorcycle-related post).> > Just installing Progressive LR fork springs. Any info on this? Thanks. >
Cool site, but was exposed as a hoax quite a few years ago.> > This is amazing :>0 (don't want to kick-up dust on your KLR here): > > http://www.angelfire.com/extreme4/kiddofspeed/chapter1.html >
