Gentlemen, I purchased a set of mini sinal lights off e-bay several months ago. For my 06 KLR 650 I installed them with out problems, how ever.... I went to change out the flasher and it was not even remotely close the one the company sent me. They sent me one that was square and had two prongs in the shape of an "L". As you may or may not know the stock signal light flasher is round with two rows of three flat prongs. The lights do light up when turned on but don't flash. My question is the same I asked the company I purchased them from. "Does a replacement flasher work/exsist for this appliaction? If so where could I get it?" Why won't the stock flasher work? The lights have 8 watt bulbs. The company said I should splice a "10 ohm 10 watt resister in parralle to each light or a pair (front or rear)". I saw the picture of the resistor they sent (see attached photo), but rather than cutting & sodiering that many wires I would rather just replace the flasher, and then only
once as I don't like to take the fuel tank off very much. Does any one know what I'm talking about? I really like the look of these lower profile lights now that ther're on. I just want them to work as planned.
PS: this is my first post in this forum.

I think the part you are referring to may be the fan relay or starter circuit
relay. The turn signal relay is as you described the replacement with a
barb on it to attach to its rubber mount. You need to remove the tank and
look behind the steering stem in the triangular part of the frame from the
radiator/fan side to find it. The replacement you have should fit the plug
but you may need to use a couple tie-wraps to attach it to the rubber mount.
