2004 model with 22,000 miles at present -not even broken in yet in my book! As for going 100K, sure seems do-able. The bike I owned before the KLR was a Honda XL600, an air-cooled single. I was the original owner and sold it with 70,000 miles on the odometer, still running well. And that bike got a lot more hours off-road, with a number of stints in the Dunes near Yuma. Talk about a torture test..... In terms of longevity, the KLR's water cooling should be an improvement over the Honda's air cooling, and the KLR's shim-and-bucket valve actuation system is clearly a longer-life setup than the Honda's rocker-arm system. If you ride it like you own it, 100K certainly seems possible. Bill Watson Phoenix --------------------------------- Ahhh...imagining that irresistible "new car" smell? Check outnew cars at Yahoo! 12,200 Miles. Just gassed it up on the way home today, $3.259 Gal. Laughed at all the chumps complaining about putting $65+ of gas in their SUV's. Luckily mine is still got 3/4 of a tank left. With these gas prices and probably $4.00/Gal in the near future I'll be riding a lot this year. Darren Clark 2004 KLR-650 When you are worthy wrote:
