Hey All,
Chris the new guy here...
2007 KLR 650, San Diego, CA.
After sitting in Iraq for 7 months dreaming about this, I'm finally
living the dream!!
Taken her out to Ocotillo Wells this weekend (April 13).
Looking forward to meeting up with some of ya'll and logging some
serious saddle time!!

Congrats on the ride...
Try removing the stock shifter lever and rotate up a notch or two on
the shaft.
Mark end with a marker or something before removing so you know how
much it moved, just make sure it clears everything going up so it
shifts fine.
I did this cause I spend alot of time on the pegs when offroad and my
boots made shifting a trick also.

The KLR is indeed a
heavy bike; nothing like the 125's I used to ride in my youth. A
250cc was the largest I ever rode. I can't wait til I feel
comfortable enough to take it to the river banks and up some dirt
roads around the area. I'm in Riverside Cty, CA (So Cal). Anyone
from around here?
