Congrats on the ride... Try removing the stock shifter lever and rotate up a notch or two on the shaft. Mark end with a marker or something before removing so you know how much it moved, just make sure it clears everything going up so it shifts fine. I did this cause I spend alot of time on the pegs when offroad and my boots made shifting a trick also. Dooden A15 Green Ape

Unfortunately, I haven't had the time to put more than 175 miles on it. But, there will be time. :) > > I haven't ridden a bike for at least 15 years (more actually), so I'm taking it easy, as Capt. Bob recommends. :) The KLR is indeed a heavy bike; nothing like the 125's I used to ride in my youth. A 250cc was the largest I ever rode. I can't wait til I feel comfortable enough to take it to the river banks and up some dirt roads around the area. I'm in Riverside Cty, CA (So Cal). Anyone from around here? > > A couple upgrades I'll probably do with my first paycheck are the LED Tail Light from Dual Star and maybe some guards, particularly for the radiator. > > Another question: The shift lever is a bit hard for me to manage with my boots--I have to really point my foot down to get it in there. Is there an aftermarket shift lever that extends further forward? > > Thanks in advance for all the help I'm sure I'll get from you guys. > > Vlad > > > > ____________________________________________________________________________________ > Get your own web address. > Have a HUGE year through Yahoo!
