Anyone on list use an X-11? How would you rate it? Noise, fit etc?

Oh, I am! I am!
Umm, let's see... I've been using the X-Eleven for about 3 years, or
thereabouts. I bought it when my Arai Quantum E wore out and I
didn't want to spend $500 to replace it.
Ventilation: Outstanding. Even though the helmet fits snugly, the
venting is so effective it feels like a breeze is blowing over my
hair. Much better than anything else I've used.
Fit/Finnish: Very good to great. Several parts of the vents on my
Arai broke and had to be replaced. The Shoei has been perfect.
Durability: After 3-ish years and 40,000+ miles, the outside of the
helmet looks nearly new. Internally, the pads are starting to
flatten a bit. When it gets to the point in bothers me, I'll replace
them.
Noise: I wear earplugs any time I ride more than a few miles, so I
may not be a good judge here. Given that, I'd say it's no worse, and
maybe a little better, than the Arai. Magazines typically seem to
review it as being at least as good or better than most.
Overall I'd say it's an excellent helmet and while it's much cheaper
than Arai, it's still not cheap. If you want some interesting info
to think about re: cost of helmet vs. effectiveness, read the
Motorcyclist article linked below. After extensive testing of name
brand helmets, a cheap-o Z1R provided the best protection. I kid you
not.
