I've seen some comments about reliability issues with after-market
stators, but not much that was substantive. I'd like to know more.
Reading a bit on ADVrider, the guy from Electro-Sport seems awfully
responsive. I might be inclined to go with their 300W model since it
can use the stock rectifier and actually has higher output at low
revs. I snoozed through my one EE class in school, but evidently
there is a trade-off with stators such that higher total output means
more drop-off at low RPM. One of the ADV-rider threads has a pretty
graph that illustrates it.
I had thought that the group buy was over. If it isn't, then I am
tempted.

CycleBrakes.com sells pads, steel lines, and wave rotors for the
rear, but you might want to think twice about upgrading. On the
street, if you've got good front brakes and are grabbing them hard,
then the rear wheel is going to be unweighted anyway so it will be
easy to lock up the rear accidentally. On a sportbike (read "badass
front brakes"), I usually avoid the rear brake when on dry pavement.
Find a stretch of empty road or an empty parking lot and try some
panic stops. I found I could lock up the rear pretty easily, even
while my bike was bone stock. Then again, some upgrades might
improve feel, making it easier to use the rear without locking it up.
Let us know what you decide and how it turns out.
