Howdy listers, I'm considering riding to the Horizons Unlimited get together in Copper Canyon this October. Since I first heard about it on this list, I thought I'd troll for riding partners here. I'll be leaving from southern California and would prefer starting down Baja, taking the ferry across from Santa Rosalia to Guaymas, and then continuing to Creel. For the way back, I'll probably ride north up the mainland. I like riding 300 - 400 miles per day on the KLR - I'm more into riding than stopping for tourist stuff. Some dirt detours would be great but I don't know the area. I'll have camping stuff with me and may hotel it some nights. If this sounds like your kind of riding, let me know. Jeff Jones

Your best bet if other KLR listers do not jump in w/ ya is to become an advrider.com member and join the main post ASAP. http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=48567 Mike Torst Las Vegas

I've received an invitation to ride the Copper Canyon in April. Two will drive down with the bikes and two of us will fly to meet them near the US/Mexican border. We will have about one week for the trip. I am hoping that someone with experience in riding this area will find the time to email me direct so that we can talk about what is to be expected of the area. Norm: My experience on one of my trips down there on my KLR is recorded at: http://www.ibmwr.org/pastevnt/LloydMexico/LloydsMexicanAdventure.htm If that link doesn't work, it's on the trip report section of the Internet BMW Riders web site. Only 2, actually...mine, and another guy's. There are, however, several DRZs, as well as at least 2 GS BMWs, a smattering of Katooms, and a Honda XR650L. We all like all kinds of bikes! --- In DSN_KLR650@yahoogroups.com, thomas breedlove wrote:

just to see how many KLR's are in the parking lot. The number is much higher in the colder months.
