-snip Hey Neil, The place you mentioned is Alice's Restaurant, where you can get anything you want -- as long as it is on the menu It is located at the intersection of Skyline and Hwy 84 which goes out to the coast to San Gregorio Beach, nice! Nowadays, I only ride Skyline during the week, weekends are reserved for the Kamakazis and their sport bikes. Cops use aircraft and cruisers to patrol it now, crossing the double line to pass will get you a ticket or inpact a car headon and take out the driver. Yes, my apologies, we made a pitstop there yesterday. It is The Junction Cafe, I had a Gatorade. There are no others 'til you get to Livermore which is now home to 36 wineries. -- Larry

I ride it often on the weekends - as long as you get up there early the sport bikes, cars etc. are not out yet. It can be a bit chilly but sometimes when there is an inversion layer it is 10 degrees warmer on top than it is down the hill. I get to Alices around 8 or so and then head back down to the valley or if clear on the coast down to the coast and back via hwy 17 (not my favorite but by then all of the sport bikes are out on the small twisty forest roads). Those are rear 18 inch rims on the front of both bikes I got from the salvage yard, I relaced on our front hubs. That's about a 4.80(120-90) rear 606 Dunlop on the front of the KLR and a rear 4.60 Cheng Shin 858 on the front of the wife's Sherpa. Rod
