running really hot

I did an oil and coolant change this weekend and just got back from a test drive. My 06 is
running really hot. On the hiway it is at about a quarter on the temp gauge, but when I get
off and do city streets it goes almost red.
I followed the manual and am pretty sure I did everything right. The fan is working and does
kick on. I bled all the air out of the radiator. Any one have any ideas what I did?

Check the rad level again. It may need to be "burped". Trapped air.

oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
You probably still have a significant amount of air trapped in the system
and the radiator is low on coolant.
When I changed mine a few weeks ago, I didn't really allow the bike to sit
there idling long enough for all the air to rise to the top of the radiator.
I bet if you take your radiator cap off, you will see that it's low on
coolant.
Just fill the radiator back up to the top, then check to see that the
overflow tank is at the proper level and you should be OK.

cam chain guide replacement???

Hi everybody
I bought new cam chain & guides etc quite some time ago but never got
around to installing them as I thought I needed to remove the head etc
to do it. Now I'm rereading the manual and I'm ot so sure anymore. Has
anybody done this and if so ca you replace them without removing the
head? My bike has done 132,000 kms and it's a bit rattly. i adjusted
the balancer chain tension last week and that helped a lot (hadn't been
done in about 40,000kms) but on rading all the trouble you guys seem to
have had with the doohickey I started reading the manual to do it my
self and thought it looks like you can remove the cam chain guides when
the left side is pulled down for this...
