I'm using Aerostitch Darien pants. Like 'em though I blew a zipper out last week and wondered as to long term value. Aerostitch repaired them under warranty (gotta like a 2 year warranty), and shipped them back in a week. Much warmer than the leather chaps I used while they were away. Todd A9 (Zooska) A3

I've got the Darien pants too. They're great. I bought my regular pants size, and they fit over my jeans (and underwear) just fine. You might try the Internet BMW Riders classifieds for some great deals on used stuff. Just don't tell anyone else about this gold mine of used stuff, ok? http://www.ibmwr.org/market/ I recently sold my Darien XXL jacket there, bought a basically brand new Darien XL jacket, and got some XXL Frank Thomas gloves there way cheap. YEAH! Oh yeah, we just bought a new house with a three car garage! Can you say: workshop for Eddie?!

first gear makes some good overpants too. i bought some teknic pants last year, but they sucked. the armor was too stiff and hurt my knee, they weren't waterproof (tho they claimed to be) and the velcro closure attached itself to my scarf, sweater, jacket liner, etc... i just got a set of the first gears, and i love em. haven't tested the waterproofness yet, but my kili jacket is proven in that regard. the armor is comfier, the zippers go all the way up the side, and there are velcro tightening straps at the ankles to keep the wind out. -mark weaver

Contrary to a previous post, the First Gear Kilimanjaro pants are plenty warm and work well for winter wear. Gino

I have the Hein Gericke Boost jacket and pants, I really like the 3/4 jacket., The pants are real warm with liner in but really suck you have to pull your shoes off to put the pants on, The zipper needs to come all the way up the leg,,,,but dont Mike

I'm a 34 waist and I wear 36 Darien pants with the hip pads over khakis without a problem. If you are between sizes I'd go for the larger size, as there are snaps on either side of the waist that will let you take up an inch or so. Of course, the folks at Aerostich are good about helping you with sizing questions if you care to give them a call.

I bought the hip pads for my Roadcrafter, and then realized that I would probably never wear them: they block the "let you get into your pants pockets underneath" zippers. Do they have the same problem in the Darien pants? I just bought a Darienlight jacket. I love it, love it, love it. Thor
