We were tied up yesterday with son's soccer (4-1 win, YES!) so didn't have time to try to help. How did you make out?
The suggestion about battery and connections issues makes sense.
Could you be a bit more specific about no electrics? I'm wondering if the side stand switch was affected by the fall. The safety switches can produce some weird symptoms although headlight, etc. wouldn't be affected. A fuse can break and allow an intermittent connection which can act something like you describe.
I recommend replacing the stock glass fuses with weather-proof ATO or Mini fuse holders. While you are at the task, locate the new fuse holders to a convenient space such as wrap-tied to the frame down-tube near the battery.
I deleted the previous digest or would post directly to try to be of help.
Sounds like you need to do some coaching/confidence building on how to move a KLR so She (She Who Must Be Obeyed) doesn't encounter this again. My 120 pound lady can move my KLR but she took some coaching even given experience with her TTR125L.
