Bill, You should be able to walk into a Napa store and tell them what you're doing and what you want. Or even radio shack. Ask for a 12v 30 amp auto relay and they should show you a little plastic cube with blade connectors sticking out of one end. <><><><><> <><><><><> WV, Whatever relay you decide to get just make sure it's rated to carry the load. A 20 or 30 amp relay will be fine. It should have four terminals on it. They'll be numbered 85, 86, 87 and 30. The 85 & 86 control the relay. Hopefully fused power in goes to 30. The horn will be connected to 87. I've got relays at Radio Shack. They're rated at 30 amps and have a mounting tab. They also cost more than most auto parts places. A good counter person should be able to find you a relay with the correct terminals, a mounting tab and a price of about $7 or less that's in stock. The last general purpose relays I bought were Grote 44840-5. These are a constant duty relay intended for fog and driving lights but will function just as well as an intermittent service relay for horn or the like. A constant duty relay can replace an intermittent service relay such as is typically supplied for horns but not the reverse as an intermittent service relay will fry after a while. You may not need a relay although it can't hurt except that it provides an extra set of contacts and wiring to fail. HIH Norm [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]

I have a Fiamm(sp?)and it'd not as loud I would like it to be. With everything wire correctly and can swap horns when I find one that's louder. Hedrek wrote: What kind of horn? A Grote #72100-5 bolts right in place of the stock horn and plugs into the stock wires. The supplied mounting strap attaches to the inner bolt and the only modification is to use a longer bolt in the top left hand hole of the coolant tank cover plate. It is necessary to use a self locking nut to lock the longer bolt into the mounting hole and another self locking bolt to hold the plastic coolant tank cover against the head of the bolt. Flat washers of course are needed. A horn should be mounted so that it doesn't touch anything or the sound level will be dampened. The new horn is louder and IMO more dignified. WV, I just bought several generic relays (Ford???) at Princess Auto (Canadian equiv to Harbor Freight). Most auto part clearing houses should have bins full of them. Be sure to get the plug that goes into it (sold separately here.). I used the European running lights wires as the 'trigger' w/ the 12v coming directly from the battery thru a fuse. Ed

I had a slow get deep in the woods in Colorado. When I got the big up, it would not start. After much searching, i found there was no fire. I pushed it out of the woods 1.25 miles. changed the plug and still no fire. I hauled it back home to arkansas. I am a pretty good mechanic so I start in and try to find some simple reason that the ighnition went dead. the stator is put out about 80 volts ac to the CDI. I can see the pulsing of the crank position sensor I Would like to know what measurements (voltage or resistance) should be found on the lines leading to the CDI. What line does what and should measure ?? volts or resistance to ground. I am not getting 12 volts to the coil. What part does the coil induced voltage from the armature to the CDI play? the one red black line from the CDI which goes to the three diodes. It would appear to me that if any of three signals grounds out, then the red/bl would ground out. Is that the method of killing the ignition in the event of one of the signals? Can someone please help me
