I gave up on that and went with Aerostich tank paniers and a kayaking map pouch (waterproof) bungied to my tank for my map. Well, actually, I just bought a GPS so now my map lives on my handlebars :-). The big problem is the hose and gas cap assembly, which, unlike on the stock tank, are most definitely *not* flush with the rest of the tank... -E

I have a Wolfman Expedition tank bag on my bike. It seems to work pretty well. Plenty of extra strap to allow you to place it where you like.

Try looking at the Wolfman - I bought mine several years ago and haven't rode without it since. It's great in all respects except its not waterproof. "E.L. Green" wrote: --- In DSN_KLR650@yahoogroups.com, "cristian_njimenez" wrote:

The rain cover for it works for me and it's not too big of a pain in the ass to access the bag contents with the cover in place. Mark

If you tank is the 6.6 gal. IMS, the Wolfman Explorer will fit, as will the very nice KTM bag for the 640 LC$ Adventure, only $89. Still no luck on finding a magnetic bag for that tank.

Well, it could have been a lot worse--I think you learned a pretty easy lesson (ATGATT). :-) I just caught the last episode of Alton Brown's show "Feasting on Asphalt" on Food Network last night. The show is about Alton riding his 2005 BMW 1200 RT across the country looking for good roadside food. Really entertaining, and you don't have to be a foodie to enjoy it. The point of bringing this up is that in the last episode he turns off the highway and heads down a gravel road to get to his next stop. Across the road bounds a bunny, and Alton loses control of the bike trying to avoid it. Down he goes and snap goes his right collarbone. Bummer! He was even wearing all his gear (Aerostich Roadcrafter, etc.). So, Will, even ATGATT won't make you invincible, but it will make it less likely that you'll spend a quiet evening with a pair of tweezers and gauze picking at your roadrash. I have the IMS military tank - about 7 gallons. The Wolfman Explorer fits great. http://www.wolfmanluggage.com/03Tank/Explorer.html Bogdan
