Just wondering what you guys think of the ebony color on the new KLR. It's funny but a color like the Lime green on my 06 has a strange effect on me, It has the power to make me feel better when I'm having a bad day:), just looking at it. I can't imagine the black KLR having this same effect on me. Dan

I'm actually thinking of spraying my 06 lime green to glossy black to match the gas tank..

Well, you know what they say about KLRs: "Once black, never back..." Dan Vesel wrote:

I love the new black look. I just bought an 06 Red and now wish I had waited a few months for a black one. It makes the KLR look mean! Eventually when my A6F fades to pink I'll strip it down and paint it black. Okay, I give, what age bracket are we talkin' 'bout? Black may be mean, but it's also UNSEEN. :-) I remember when the first photos were published of the red KLR by Kawasaki, it was a very bright Magenta-looking color and everybody loved it, but Kawasaki quickly retouched the photos to show the actual darker red that they ended up using, which to me was kinda disappointing. I also like the black tank on my KLR but only because of the overlayed decal with green, yellow and white and the accompanying green plastic cowling, it really pops. Some guy over at the V-Strom board painted his bike all flat black and I can only assume that he did this because his original paint was so messed up anything would look better. :-) LOL Dan

look at it this way, Jim: my 06 isn't green, it's black with green trim. -doug Woodside, James A wrote:

Regarding the black look, My local dealer took in an older KLR650 that had been painted with the black hammered paint. It really caught my eye. I've been painting mine a with a two-tone pattern of silver and black hammered paint. Looks great, especially for a spray can job. Pretty scratch and chip resistant, too. Yeah, yeah, I'm cheap, but it's fun. Steve in Niceville --- In DSN_KLR650@yahoogroups.com, "teamster1997" wrote:
