engine trouble after valve adj./expert advise needed!!!

I thought everything was great. Did the Valve check & adj. on my A-
13 a couple hundred miles ago.(3,600 miles) Not sure about it's
previous history. I set all (4) at the Max. allowable(.008 & .010
respectively)
Only 1 intake was a little tight(.004)/ Anyway, was on a short run
into town when compression braking to make a slow turn, all S**t
broke loose. A very loud banging in the valve train area. I turned
off the engine rightaway. The engine re-started with the same sound
which increased with rpm's(only did this "not so bright thing" for 2-
3 seconds though)/Hauled it home & re-opened it. All the bolts are
in place and everthing is at proper torque(104 inch/pounds). I can
duplicate the noise by moving the Front(Exh.)cam wheel & assembley
side to side(maybe 1/4"). The Back cam wheel & assembley only moves
slighly(est. 1/16") with no noise.
Also I can't (now) get the valve train to TDC with the arrow's
pointing forward, at the level of the cylider wall(0900 postion)/Both
arrows are now about 0800 position.
Did it Jump Time ?
I haven't taken the cam bolt & caps off yet to look at the surfaces
however.
Any advise would sure be appreciated. Thanks!!!!

Kawasaki also makes the 250 Ninja, which is a helluva nice little
bike... and, at least around here, is a best-seller. The dealers can't
keep them in stock and used ones are going for positively silly prices.
Rode one home from the dealer for a friend last week. Got it up to an
indicated 90mph, even with my fat butt on it.
