Center stand mounts through foot peg mounting bolts. Problem is if off-roading, if you hit large rock, you can shear off the bolts. Street only, a center stand is nice. If serious off-road (KLR style), then forget it. Jeff A20 [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]

If "serious off-roading", then use a serious dirt bike! Cheers, Bigdroptwo jokerloco9@... wrote: Center stand mounts through foot peg mounting bolts. People often assert that the KLR is not a serious off road bike but they are dead wrong! Anyone who doesn't agree should proceed as follows before arguing with me on this point. 1) Find a 100 foot slide area and bull the KLR down to the bottom to get past that wash-out. Find the road is even worse beyond. 2) Now consider the following: -Are you off road? "Yes!" -Is the situation serious? "Yes!" The defence rests...... the KLR off road is a very serious bike! Hope you have some strong friends with rope. (VBG) Been there, and it was far more serious than for my wife's 125. Norm [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]

Norm, I only find one problem with this eloquent argument. It is, that, I didn't write this terse little treatise. (VERY nicely done.) "YES! YES!" Your succinct description is seriously, down in the ditch, funny. I vote NORM for the most KLR laughs with the fewest words. revmaaatin. can't top that--not yet anyway
