klr ability to sink like submarine

Just a little to share with y'al I took my good old reliable
KLR out for a Forth of July run and have a little fun with it. since
it has been raining here quite a bit there was more water out in the
State forest then i expected. Soon I found myself coming up on these
water holes that just kept getting deeper and deeper. Then they
weren't as deep and I thought I was inb the clear when all the sudde
this hole swallowed me and the mighty KLR. An extra ten horsepower
wouldn't have even worked in this case. Even with all the extra
Horse power I have in the engine now didn't help any. I had it stuck
in soupy mud right up to the skid plate. Man this crap was like
peanut butter. and I had water up to the bottom of the seat. I
looked like I was out there testing some kinda new submarine.
So after about an hour of wresatling with this thing and trying
to pull it with a rope a big old truck came down the road and I was
sure glad he wanted to get around me because he was more than
willing to pull me out. After I was pulled out it took about another
hour to drain the carb and pull the plug and clear the cylinder. I
was lucky enough the guy that help me had some extra oil on him so I
could change the oil. Apparently he sinks his truck a lot because he
had all the stuff to do an oil change.
Good news is The good old KLR fired up after a few tries on the
starter button and I was on my way home in the opposite direction.
Just thought I would share my fun for the day with everyone and
hope your fourth went a little better then mine did.
