belt drive klr650?

I thought that was considered a bad idea for a bike that sees mud, sand, etc. The grit attacks the belt. Not that I have a clue about this, but that was the sort of stuff said about the BMW(?) dualsport with a belt. -- Doug Herr doug@...> Anyone ever done it? VBG
