Compaired to what you got on it now... the Kenda 270's will grip like a bear claw. Acceptable pavement handling provided the operator remembers they are riding on knobbies. Of course its up to you, but I give the Kenda's a thumbs up for cost and performance, only thing I would mention that the rear seems to wear into a flat knobby, but I am hard on tires/chain. My OEM chain has under 7,000 miles and its pretty much shot, rollers are getting loose and although I will ride it out this year would not take it on any long highway rides, which I have no intentions on doing this year. A 250 might have been a better choice for myself, but I love my 650. Dooden A15 Green Ape
