Keith, May I suggest you consider using a relay and wiring for power in such a way as has been discussed (last week or less I think) on this list. That will eliminate the issue of remembering to turn off an accessory as when you turn the ignition off the relay will also be off. If you tap into the electrical system like you are suggesting I think eventually, and possibly immediately, you'll have problems. Heated clothing and driving lights will draw more current through the ignition switch contacts than I think they were designed to handle. You'll probably experience a voltage drop as the least of the problems it'll cause. Melting the switch contacts will be even worse.
