I've got a super-sticky/stiff choke which doesn't seem to return to
"open" very easily once used. I'd like to substitute it with a
modified version right on the carb. I've heard that there are
adaptations possible from other bikes.
Any ideas or leads out there?

alternative to the handlebar choke control
Bruce,
I think the 883 Harley Sportsters use the same carb style and a carb
mounted choke push pull knob. Might be worth checking on parts at the
Harley shop.

This may be a dumb question but have you lubed the choke cable so it doesn't
stick?

There was some talk here a while back about the
possibility of using a KLX300 choke, which mounts
directly on the carb:
"PN 16016-1068 PLUNGER,STARTER"
I don't know anything about the KLX, but it's worth
looking into. Let us know what you come up with.

Any of your Bros in the area will extend that deal for you, pretty
sure.
