new front sprocket ,,,help

just got sun star front sprocket from utah ,
I think previous owner had it on backwards , thus my chain noise etc..
my ? is ... the words "sun star 359 " should go towards the
outside ???????????????????????????

Larry,
That's an interesting way to try to keep your wheel aligned. I just went
to the shop and measured the length of the threaded portion sticking
behind the lock nuts on my bike. There was a 1/32" difference between
the left and right adjusters. I suppose if a guy measured each adjuster
from the hole in the adjuster where the axle goes through to the end of
the threads they could be adjusted to be the same length. Looks like
just measuring the threaded portion without a reference won't work on all
bikes.
