after carb slide change

dudes,an update i'm getting decent mpg at last! 390km for 20 litres.
power is wonderful. first gear pops a wheelie most of the time
caught me off guard a few times. it is decent mpg right? was riding
between 90kmh and 13kmh all over the place

That's 46 mpg for us metric-challenged Americans. A bit on the low side,
but OK (I usually get 55 mpg)

i changed the slide, which is has the rubber diaphgram on it, part
number 43028-1062 DIAPHRAGM,VALVE.
55mpg?! how fast do you ride?
my pipe has been uncorked. 2.5 turns on the screw.
bike has side bags and the wind is quite strong this time of the year.
is it coz of those shooting out from the traffic lights?

Clint,
I 've just been out for a fang around today and got about the same
consumption as you, 350 Km 18.2 litres = 5.2 Lit/100Km //54.32 ImpMPG
//45.23 USMPG, mine is an A18 stock standard in the engine dept.
Petrol here was A$1.26 litre up to A$1.33 litre.

hello from a new member

I just joined this group. I brought a KLR 650 and I am really enjoying it so far. I am going to a Dual Sport ride this weekend and it will be my first off raod ride with this bike, I am really looking foreward to it. I wanted to say that part of why I choose a KLR 650 is the fact that there is so much support and info on the web about this bike, that there is a group like this one with so many menbers. It really makes me think that I choose correctly reading all the info out there about these bikes.
