Yuasa makes a sealed battery that is an exact fit. The exact part number is in the FAQ (link at the bottom of EMAIL from the DSN_KLR list). You can also go to Yuasa's site and look it up. It is an AGM (sealed) battery with the acid all locked into a fiberglass mat between the plates. This should also make the battery last longer, since a common failure mode for regular batteries is that a piece of plate peels off, falls between the plates, and shorts the battery out. With a fiberglass mat between each plate that's not possible. I looked at the specs on all of the various sealed batteries, and Yuasa's specs were equal to the best, and better than the rest, and my local dealer had one in stock. So... -E

klr 650 oil leak

Have a 2003 KLR 650 with an oil leak from the shift lever shaft. There is a rubber seal around the shaft as it goes into the crankcase. Was hoping to find a snap ring or something like it that holds the seal in place, but no luck on that. How do you remove this seal and replace with a new one?
