dual sport rides after motogp

Howdy listers,
I'm going to the MotoGP races this weekend at Laguna Seca. On Monday
after the races,
I'll take Hwy 1 south to start my ride home. I've always passed by a
road south of Big Sur
which heads up into the mountains. Last year, I saw a couple of BMW GS
guys regrouping
there. I'm wondering if it's a good dual sport ride. It may be named
something with Nacimiento
in the name which leads me to hope it goes to Lake Nacimiento. Anyone
familiar with this
road? If so,
1) Is it fun?
2) Is it easy to follow?
3) I assume it goes across Fort Hunter Liggett - is it open for
civilians to drive across?
Thanks,
Jeff Jones

Yes ride it.
Hunter Ligget is open for civilians but you will need all your papers
including liscense, registration and proof of insurance.
While on the base be sure to check out the mission San Antonio De Padua.
Also watch your speed and do not be tempted. A word to the wise is
sufficient.

I have really appreciated and enjoyed the responses from the group.
I;ve noticed in the group that the 2k6s have already hit Salt Lake
City, maybe MS won't be too far behind. This TW200 is shrinking as I
type. This is a very interesting and informative group and by far the
most prolific I've joined. Thanks, I'll be lurking around for a while.
