Greetings Listers,
I am selling my year 2000 KLR 650. I am the original owner and bought the
bike new in August 2000. It has 3200 miles on it and is completely stock. It
has only been used on road. It has always been garaged and looks brand new.
Asking price is $3700 OBO. I would also consider trade for a DR 650 or XR
650L in similar condition. I am located at Temple, Texas (north of Austin
about 75 miles).

the only tangible difference between it and a klr we can find it that dr's
seat is more uncomfortable

harbor freight tire machine

Munroe,
I've had the Harbor Freight tire machine and motorcycle attachment for a
few years. The machine is great for holding the tire but the bar that
comes with it doesn't work very well. I sometimes use the bar to
dismount a tire but always use tire irons to mount tires. I was able to
break a weld on the bracket on the attachment that keeps the attachment
from rotating. Added 15 minutes to the tire change as I had to prep the
area and weld it and wait for it to cool. I have mine mounted only when
I need it. The rest of the time I have short carriage bolts I've
modified screwed into the anchor holes in the floor to keep dirt out of
them. Be aware if you get one they are shipped with the clamps on
backwards. Only takes a minute or two to correct the orientation. Also,
if you are going to spend the bucks on the machine it goes on sale pretty
regularly as does the attachment. I think I have about $65 tied up in
mine. Real tire lube is worth getting too.
Best,
Jeff Saline
